GAC users are a force for change. Essential to strong advocacy is communicating with our elected leaders on matters of importance to our patients, medical practices and the profession as a whole.  When the physician community weighs-in on healthcare policy proposals, legislators listen.  Our personal perspective, medical expertise and first hand experience with how policy implementation impacts the patient experience and real-time clinical practice environment are vital considerations when proposals are developed.  We make it easy to take action on the latest critical pieces of legislation at the very moment physician input is needed. Contacting legislators through our Grassroots Action Center or raising public awareness through sharing to social media is a powerful means to voice your concerns, educate others and weigh-in on matters that affect access to quality medical care. When you subscribe to the Medical Society of the State of New York Grassroots Action Center, the Division of Governmental Affairs will alert you when legislation and issues of importance to physicians and patients either in the NYS legislature or in Congress, are at critical stages where contact from constituents would be vital to influencing the path and future of that legislation or issue.  Alerts will be accompanied by recommended actions you or your designee can take to have maximum impact such as calling, tweeting and emailing a customizable letter to your legislators.

If you are concerned with health care policy formation in New York State, please subscribe today by texting MSSNY to 52886 and you will be prompted to enter your email address.  When you sign up, it is best to use your NY-based voting address or practice address (if you do not reside in NY) for your alerts.
